About the Role We are seeking an experienced Technology Strategist & Advisor to guide law firms, healthcare organizations, and government agencies through complex digital transformation initiatives. This role serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership—managing partners, agency directors, CIOs, CTOs, and compliance officers—ensuring technology investments enhance security, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and long-term institutional resilience. While this role operates in a hybrid work model, consultants and advisors are expected to attend client sites when required to support project delivery, stakeholder engagement, workshops, or other client collaboration. The ideal candidate understands the unique pressures of highly regulated, confidentiality-driven environments and brings a vendor-neutral, strategic perspective to modernization efforts. Key Responsibilities Strategic Technology Planning Develop 3–5 year technology roadmaps aligned with institutional strategy and regulatory obligations Conduct comprehensive assessments of IT infrastructure, legacy systems, and governance frameworks Design enterprise architecture strategies that prioritize security, scalability, and compliance Executive Advisory Advise leadership teams on modernization initiatives including: Cloud migration and hybrid environments AI and automation in legal and clinical workflows Case management, practice management, and EHR optimization Cybersecurity risk posture and data protection strategy Prepare executive briefings, risk assessments, and board-level recommendations Digital Transformation Leadership Lead modernization of legacy systems and mission-critical applications Support transitions to secure cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GovCloud, etc.) Oversee integration of analytics, automation, and AI tools while ensuring compliance safeguards Regulatory & Compliance Oversight Ensure alignment with applicable frameworks and regulations, including: HIPAA and HITECH (healthcare) CJIS and public sector data standards (government) ABA and client confidentiality requirements (legal) SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, and other governance standards Conduct risk assessments and implement controls to safeguard sensitive data Vendor-Neutral Evaluation & Procurement Support Evaluate legal practice management, case management, EHR, and document management systems Oversee vendor selection, RFP processes, contract review, and implementation governance Ensure procurement decisions align with long-term strategic and compliance objectives Cost Optimization & Operational Efficiency Analyze IT spend and identify opportunities to reduce overhead while improving service delivery Align technology investments with measurable ROI and mission outcomes Cross-Functional Leadership Act as liaison between technical teams, legal/clinical/administrative leadership, and compliance officers Translate complex technical topics into clear business and operational impact Support change management and adoption initiatives across diverse stakeholder groups Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Expertise Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud architecture (AWS, Azure), and cybersecurity best practices Experience securing high-confidentiality environments handling PHI, PII, CJIS, or privileged legal data Familiarity with enterprise systems in legal, healthcare, or public-sector settings Regulatory & Risk Knowledge Deep knowledge of data governance, privacy regulations, and compliance frameworks Experience implementing NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA, or comparable standards Business & Institutional Acumen Ability to balance modernization goals with budget constraints and regulatory mandates Experience aligning technology investments with public service, client service, or patient care outcomes Communication & Advisory Skills Exceptional ability to advise executive leadership and governing boards Skilled in preparing risk reports, executive summaries, and strategic roadmaps Strong facilitation skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Public Administration, Healthcare Informatics, or related field Advanced degree (MBA, MPA, MPH) preferred 7–15+ years of experience in IT consulting, enterprise architecture, public sector IT leadership, or regulated industry transformation Demonstrated experience in at least one of the following environments: Law firms or legal service organizations Healthcare systems, hospital networks, or health insurers Government agencies or regulatory bodies Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PMP, ITIL, AWS, Azure, or equivalent are strongly preferred.
