HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR   Temporary Long-Term position – Unionized  Position to fill  1 Code SS26-07 Hourly rate 42,51$ to 47,01$ Deadline to apply May 29th, 2026  The work location is at  Nunavik  and the normal work schedule is on a rotation of 6 weeks: 3 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days a week) followed by 3 weeks for rest.   Privileges & benefits  Competitive salary including bonuses and a full range of benefits (group insurance, generous pension plan, telemedicine, EAP, etc.). Learning and coaching opportunities.  A friendly, committed and collaborative work environment.   Future challenges   Reporting  to the Surface Services Supervisor, the Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for:  Drive different trucks (semi-trailer truck, fardier truck, vacuum truck, bus, fuel tanker, water tanker, sand truck, etc.);  Operate heavy machinery such as D-8/6/3 tractor, wheel loaders, hydraulic shovel, 40-ton mining truck, telescopic mast truck. Maintain the roads on the mine site with all types of heavy machinery specific to this task. He ensures that he inspects and conducts preventive maintenance on his equipment consistently. Perform all tasks related to airport services. If needed, performs all other tasks requested by supervisor.   Profile required Hold a heavy equipment course (DEP) or any other diploma combined with experience deemed equivalent. Have a minimum of 6,000 hours of experience as a truck driver and 4,000 hours as a construction machinery operator.  Hold an explosive permit. Hold a valid driver’s license class 1 (SAAQ).   Assets  Experience in a northern environment. Bilingualism (French-English).   Skills sought   Work with a diverse and multicultural team.
