Senior Financial Analyst
Department: Finance Reports To: Director of Finance Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
Blue Moon Metals is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our growing Finance team. This role will play a key part in supporting financial reporting, IFRS compliance, operational analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. The ideal candidate is a recently qualified CPA with experience in the mining sector, strong technical accounting expertise, and a collaborative approach to partnering across corporate and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
Support the preparation, consolidation, and analysis of monthly management reporting packages, quarterly financial statements, and annual financial reporting in accordance with IFRS
Assist in preparing Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A) disclosures, technical accounting assessments, audit working papers, and IFRS accounting analyses
Partner closely with Corporate Accounting and site finance teams to improve the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of financial information and reporting processes
Serve as an internal IFRS technical resource and provide accounting guidance to operational finance teams
Support external reporting requirements, including filings for TSX Venture Exchange, Nasdaq, and other regulatory reporting obligations
Prepare supporting schedules, variance analysis, and reporting documentation for internal and external stakeholders
Collaborate with operational and project teams to analyze mine development, construction, and exploration expenditures
Support ERP and financial systems initiatives, including SAP S/4HANA implementation activities, financial reporting enhancements, and internal control improvements
Participate in ad hoc financial analysis, process optimization initiatives, and strategic projects
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the financial reporting function to support a growing mining organization
Qualifications & Experience
Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline
CPA designation (or international equivalent) required
3–6 years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience
Previous experience within the mining industry strongly preferred
Strong understanding of IFRS accounting standards; exposure to US GAAP considered an asset
Public accounting experience, particularly within a Big 4 mining practice, is considered a strong asset
Experience supporting publicly traded company reporting requirements considered an asset
Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong financial modeling capabilities
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across technical and operational teams
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and evolving environment
