QA Automation Engineer

🔍  Do you see bugs as opportunities and automation as your superpower?  We’re hiring a  QA Automation Engineer  to join a fast-growing Canadian fintech company building modern mortgage platforms that streamline how brokers and clients connect, transact, and manage the entire financing experience. The organization is actively evolving its engineering practices, with quality embedded throughout the development lifecycle.  In this role, you’ll lead automation efforts and help ensure consistent, high-quality releases across a growing platform. You’ll contribute to building and scaling automation across UI, API, and microservices layers within a cloud-based environment.  💻  Who You Are  A quality-driven thinker who believes automation is essential, not optional   Someone who enjoys building frameworks, not just executing test cases   A proactive collaborator who works closely with developers, product, and stakeholders   Detail-oriented, with a strong instinct for identifying edge cases and risks   Comfortable owning testing strategy in fast-moving Agile environments   A clear communicator who can translate technical findings into actionable insights  📍  Work Type  Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 2-3 days per week in the office)  Vacancy Type: This role is a newly created position  Requirements 🎯  What You’ll Do  Design, build, and maintain automation frameworks for UI, API, and microservices testing   Lead end-to-end testing strategies across functional, regression, and release cycles  Develop automated test scripts using tools like Selenium, Cypress, and Postman   Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps   Collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure quality across all releases   Own defect lifecycle management, from identification to resolution   Define automation roadmaps and identify opportunities to improve test coverage   Communicate test progress, risks, and quality metrics to stakeholders  ⭐  What We’re Looking For  5+ years of experience in QA and software testing with 3+ years in QA automation engineering   Hands-on experience with Selenium, Cypress, Cucumber, Postman, and .NET-based testing   Strong experience testing REST APIs and microservices architectures   Familiarity with Angular and .NET Core applications   Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines   Solid understanding of SDLC, test strategies, and defect management   Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills   Nice to have:   Experience in fintech, mortgage, or regulated industries   Exposure to compliance, risk, or audit-driven environments    🔥  What Makes This Role Exciting  Ownership: Take the lead on automation strategy and framework design   Impact: Be the final gatekeeper of quality across mission-critical platforms   Modern Environment: Work with cloud-native systems and microservices architectures   Visibility: Collaborate directly with engineering leadership and stakeholders   Continuous Improvement: Drive innovation in testing practices and tools Benefits Base Salary: $80,000 – 120,000  Paid Time Off: Competitive vacation and personal days  Health & Dental Benefits: Comprehensive coverage starting from day one  Additional Coverage through a Health Spending Account  Biweekly stipends to offset internet and phone expenses    📩 Ready to Elevate Your Career?
