A bit about the role We are looking for a Programmatic Strategy & Performance Lead to define and elevate the agency’s programmatic and performance media vision, setting the strategic direction for how data, technology and media investment drive business outcomes. This role focuses on strategic leadership across programmatic and performance, establishing frameworks for measurement, audience strategy and optimization while guiding a high-performing Media Operations team. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of Canada’s media landscape, strong digital ecosystem expertise and the ability to translate complex performance data into clear strategic direction and business impact. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Leading the development of programmatic and performance media strategies aligned with client business objectives. Translating business goals into channel investment frameworks and campaign execution plans. Providing senior oversight on campaign planning, execution and optimization to ensure strong performance outcomes. Leading vendor evaluation, partnership development and participate in media buying and negotiations. Designing and implementing measurement frameworks aligned with client KPIs and growth objectives. Applying attribution methodologies such as marketing mix modeling, multi touch attribution and incrementality testing. Translating complex data into clear performance insights and recommendations for internal and client stakeholders. Championing reporting standards, data integrity and analytical best practices across the Media Operations team. Leading testing and experimentation initiatives to drive innovation in performance measurement and optimization. Managing and developing Media Operations team members through coaching, performance reviews and development planning. Fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, knowledge sharing and continuous learning. Partnering with Strategy and Client Service teams to ensure insights inform planning, investment decisions and client discussions. Driving operational excellence through improved workflows, governance and campaign management practices. What we’re looking for 5+ years of experience in digital media strategy and execution with a strong focus on performance marketing. Deep expertise in programmatic and/or paid social media advertising and performance optimization. Experience managing and developing team members with accountability for performance and professional growth. Advanced experience with major DSPs and strong familiarity with the broader ad technology ecosystem including DSPs, SSPs, DMPs and CDPs. Experience applying AI tools, automation or advanced analytics to media planning, buying or performance analysis. Proven ability to translate media performance into broader marketing and business outcomes. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including modeling, forecasting and scenario planning. Experience using BI and research platforms such as Power BI, Databox, Numeris, nLogic, MTM or similar tools. Highly analytical mindset with strong problem solving, strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities.
