Position Title: Wellness Program Coordinator Reports To:  Senior Manager, Programs and Operations I. Scope and summary of primary responsibilities The Wellness Program Coordinator will support the delivery of volunteer-led services, peer support groups, and front-desk reception at our Edmonton office location. This role directly strengthens our ability to engage volunteers, expand peer connection opportunities, and ensure safe and inclusive access to programs for participants who are blind, Deafblind or have low vision. The student will gain hands-on experience in community engagement, volunteer coordination, customer service, administration, data management, communication, and inclusive program delivery, building highly transferrable employment skills while supporting an essential social service mandate.  II. Essential functions  The position entails, but is not limited to the following general responsibilities:  Support outreach activities and facilitate recruitment for volunteers for the Vision Mate and Peer Support programs.   Engage with potential volunteers through phone calls, email, in-person conversations, and community outreach.  Promote volunteer opportunities across community platforms and support the creation of accessible advertising content.  Assist in reviewing applications, screening candidates, and scheduling interviews. Conduct interviews alongside Program Lead to provide timely follow-up and communication.  Support volunteer onboarding including documentation, orientation materials, and required checks.  Track and report volunteer hours to strengthen program reporting and accountability. Support peer support groups by providing sighted-guide assistance, participant check-ins, and reminder calls.  Lead or assist with recreational activities (games, crafts, social events, etc.).  Work with Program Lead to plan logistics, equipment needs, and program setup.  Set up and clean up program spaces, support accessible participation, and ensure a welcoming environment.  Record attendance, key moments of impact, and program metrics that align with “The Way Forward” strategic plan.  Assist with data migration to ensure legacy materials are stored appropriately in current systems. Maintain accurate participant and volunteer data in Salesforce.  Provide general office support for multiple departments including filing, document preparation, and communication.  Support mailouts, courier handling, and reception administrative workflows.  Greet visitors, assist clients, and notify staff of appointment arrivals. Provide information about programs and services.  Support incoming phone calls, mail processing, couriers, and front desk operations.  Ensure a professional, welcoming, inclusive environment for clients and visitors.   Contact potential participants for Spring/Summer program outreach to increase program accessibility and impact.  Assist in coordinating community events and awareness initiatives promoting the voices of people who are blind, Deafblind, or partially sighted. Support accessible communication by assisting with document formatting, alt text, and inclusive messaging.  Support seasonal projects, administrative tasks, and community initiatives as assigned.  Provide additional support during high-volume periods to ensure smooth program delivery.  III. Qualifications  This position is funded through Canada Summer Jobs. Knowledge and Skill Requirements  Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.  Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills.  Strong leadership and advocacy skills  Ethical behavior and the ability to maintain confidentiality.  Must be organized, self-motivated, flexible and adaptable. Personal or professional experience relating to blindness or sight loss is considered an asset.  Experience and Education   Post-secondary degree. Experience planning and delivering programs.  Proficiency working with Microsoft Office suite, including Office 365 online collaboration tools. Must be able to provide a clear criminal record check including vulnerable sectors.  Work environment   Willingness to work flexible hours.
