The Strathcona Hotel, in the heart of beautiful Victoria British Columbia is looking to hire a reliable, mature and energetic individual to join our Front Desk team. Our ideal candidate enjoys working with others and thrives to deliver a positive and pleasant experience to our guests. You must be dependable, organized and enjoy both clerical duties and customer relations. Previous accounting experience is not mandatory. Shift hours: 11:30pm to 7:30am Availability is required for: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights - flexibility is a requisite

Duties and Responsibilities included but not limited to

Check-in late night arrivals Check-out early morning departures Create new reservations for walk in guests, and create, modify, and cancel reservations for future stays Answer telephone enquiries about the hotel and attached venues Assist guests in house with requests and concerns Work with the Security team to ensure the comfort of hotel guests, and ensure quiet time and occupancy policies are adhered to Assist team members with cashing out, and signing in/out keys

Requirements

• Passion for guest service
• Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral
• Must be a team oriented & motivated individual
• Highly organized, results-oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure
• Knowledge of Word, Excel and Property Management Systems
• Cash handling and processing experience
• Knowledge of Victoria and surrounding area and attractions
• Night audit experience an asset
