This role may be a perfect fit for you! You will oversee day-to-day programming for both our overnight and day camp programs. Responsibilities include managing camper behavior, coordinating staff placements, providing feedback to staff, and ensuring that the camp experience is FUN for everyone! Requirements: Must be 19+, Availability for both Spring and Summer sessions.     Camp Health and Safety Manager Are you caring, compassionate, and able to show empathy? Do you enjoy helping others? The Health & Wellness Manager position may be the perfect fit for you. In this role, you'll be responsible for overseeing the health and wellness of both campers and staff, while also assisting with site safety and supervision. Requirements: 19+, Standard First Aid certification, National Lifeguard Service (NLS) certification encouraged, G License preferred, Nursing experience or education (or related field) an asset       Camp Admin Manager In this role, you'll oversee many behind-the-scenes functions that keep camp running smoothly. From signing campers in and out, taking photos, and communicating with families, to running reports, you'll play a key part in keeping us organized and on track. Requirements: 19+, Availability for both Spring and Summer sessions       Camp Aquatics Supervisor If you are passionate about water safety, love to share and teach your knowledge, and want to help mentor and coach this opportunity is for you. Responsible for overall safety, maintenance, and upkeep of the waterfront and pool, assistance in direct delivery of all aquatic program, lifeguarding and boating. 18+, Standard Fist Aid, NLS, boater's license required. 1+ years guarding a waterfront setting an asset.   Camp Lifeguard (waterfront/pool) and Boating Leader If you are fun, energetic and willing to be silly then camp is for you! Come to camp eager to learn, with a camper-focused mindset. You should be resilient, hard working, inclusive, responsible, and work well within a team. You are committed to creating an inclusive and safe space for all. Potential for lifeguards to work on our waterfront and/or pool deck. 16+ National Lifeguard certificate and Standard First Aid with CPR-C and AED skills, 1+ years of experience guarding pool and/or waterfront is an asset.   LIT Trainer/Counselor If you want to be a coach and mentor, help others succeed and find the leaders within them, being an LIT Trainer is for you. You are positive, passionate, and enjoy teaching and motivating others. When not leading LITs, you will act as a counselor. 17+, Standard First Aid, NLS Preferred     Camp Counselor If you're passionate about giving campers the time of their life, being a positive role model and mentor, and helping them achieve the extraordinary, the Camp Counsellor position may be perfect for you. In this role, you'll be responsible for the direct care and well-being of our campers. Both Day Camp and Overnight Camp positions are available. Requirements: 17+, Standard First Aid, National Lifeguard Service (NLS) encouraged if interested in leading water-based activities     Camp Support Role ​ If you enjoy working behind the scenes in an essential role, this position may be for you. As part of the Support team, you'll help prepare and cook meals for 25 overnight campers, maintain cleanliness and safety in the kitchen and camp facilities, and ensure all health and safety standards are met.   Inclusion & Wellness Support If you’re passionate about fostering an inclusive and healthy camp environment and providing one-on-one support this might be the role for you. You will collaborate with camp leadership to offer strategies and support as needed for campers with identified needs. This role requires a strong understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles, excellent communication skills, and experience in a camp or similar setting. ​     ​ Additional Information:  Camp Equitable Employment Fund Camp Belwood is excited to be offering the YMCA Camp Equitable Employment Fund (CEEF) to our staff applicants. CEEF is a grant implemented across all YMCA overnight camps in Canada to decrease barriers to employment at camps for people traditionally marginalized and underrepresented in the camping industry. The fund is open to BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Colour) Canadians aged 17 to 25 with previous experience or a demonstrated interest in working with youth. No previous camp-specific experience is required.  Successful applicants receive financial assistance to offset the personal expenses of working in the outdoor industry, including certification courses, personal gear, equipment, and travel costs.   Funding will be awarded to successful applicants who have been offered a position at a YMCA overnight camp in Canada in the order applications are received and based upon available funding.
