We are seeking an experienced and visionary fundraising leader to serve as National Lead, Women in Philanthropy and Transformational Giving. This role blends frontline transformational fundraising excellence with national leadership of Women in Philanthropy, including strategic oversight of the Tiffany Circle, the Red Cross’s premier women’s giving society. This is a unique opportunity for a senior major gift professional who is inspired by the power of women’s leadership, collective philanthropy, and transformational impact. The National Lead, Women in Philanthropy and Transformational Giving is a senior individual contributor and national subject‑matter expert responsible for advancing transformational individual giving while leading and elevating the Canadian Red Cross’s strategy for engaging women philanthropists. Balancing high‑value frontline fundraising with strategic leadership, the role manages a portfolio of donors capable of gifts of $500,000+, while also serving as the national lead for Women in Philanthropy, including direction and growth of the Tiffany Circle. Working with senior volunteers, Co‑Chairs, a National Council, Red Cross leadership, and philanthropy colleagues across the country, this role strengthens donor engagement, inspires leadership philanthropy among women, and drives both direct and influenced giving for collective humanitarian impact. This position is ideal for a relationship‑driven leader who excels in complexity, thrives in partnership with volunteers and donors, and is motivated by advancing gender‑inclusive philanthropy at the highest level. In this role, you will : Securing transformational major gifts from individuals and family foundations Leading the national strategy, engagement, and growth of Women in Philanthropy, with a primary focus on the Tiffany Circle. This role shapes donor experiences, national standards, and long‑term pipeline sustainability, contributing materially to the Canadian Red Cross’s most significant philanthropic outcomes. Transformational Gift Fundraising Build, manage, and grow a national portfolio of high‑net‑worth individual and family foundation donors capable of making gifts of $500,000+, with emphasis on $500K–$10M+. Personally lead sophisticated cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, including virtual and in‑person engagement. Respond to national and international emergency appeals by engaging donors in timely, mission‑aligned giving opportunities. Develop and execute tailored donor strategies that align Red Cross priorities with donor passions and values. Strategically engage senior leadership and executives in donor relationships, including preparation of briefings, proposals, and follow‑up materials. Collaborate with Major Gifts, Campaigns, Planned Giving, Corporate Partnerships, and Provincial teams on joint donor strategies and solicitations. Ensure accurate and strategic moves management and reporting in the fundraising CRM. National Lead, Women in Philanthropy & Tiffany Circle Serve as the national lead for Women in Philanthropy, advancing a cohesive vision and strategy that deepens engagement, grows membership, and drives philanthropic impact. Provide strategic oversight and leadership of the Tiffany Circle, the Canadian Red Cross’s premier women’s giving community. Partner closely with Tiffany Circle Co‑Chairs and the National Council, supporting governance, strategic planning, and relationship management. Work with the Donor Experience team to design and oversee a year‑round engagement strategy, including virtual and in‑person opportunities that inspire connection, learning, and action. In conjunction with the Donor Experience team, lead delivery of the annual in‑person Tiffany Circle Anniversary event, including strategic objectives, donor experience, volunteer engagement, and cross‑organizational collaboration. Work with Tiffany Circle members to advance collective impact, including both direct giving and influenced philanthropy. Act as a trusted advisor and connector between women philanthropists, senior leaders, volunteers, and program teams. Elevate women’s leadership in philanthropy within the Canadian Red Cross and across the sector. Strategic Leadership, Innovation & Organizational Contribution Serve as a national subject‑matter expert in transformational and women‑led philanthropy. Contribute to the evolution of national fundraising strategies, standards, and best practices. Foster innovation in donor engagement, collective giving, and volunteer‑led philanthropy. Support revenue forecasting, pipeline analysis, and operational planning. Play an active role in a One Red Cross approach to fundraising. Support readiness and surge fundraising capacity during emergencies. What we are looking for : 8–12+ years of progressive experience in philanthropy or fund development, including significant experience with major or transformational gifts. Demonstrated success securing and stewarding six‑ and seven‑figure gifts. Experience working with or leading donor networks, giving circles, or volunteer‑led philanthropy is a strong asset. University degree in business, marketing, communications, philanthropy, nonprofit management, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Professional accreditation (e.g., CFRE) is an asset. Experience engaging and supporting senior volunteers, councils, or boards. Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and fundraising databases (Blackbaud experience is an asset). Exceptional relationship‑building, influencing, and storytelling skills. Strategic thinker comfortable operating in complexity and ambiguity. Strong leadership presence with the ability to lead through influence rather than authority. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. Strong planning, analytical, and organizational capabilities. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and advancing women’s leadership. Working Conditions Full‑time remote role with national travel required. Occasional evenings and non‑traditional hours to support donor engagement, volunteer leadership, events, and emergency appeals. A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required. During large‑scale emergencies, this role may support broader fundraising or organizational response efforts.
