About Kidco Construction Kidco Construction is a complete construction solutions company specializing in residential earthworks, underground utility excavation, and basement excavation for large‑scale residential, commercial, and municipal projects throughout Calgary, Alberta. With nearly four decades of experience, Kidco delivers end‑to‑end construction solutions, from initial site preparation and infrastructure installation through to foundation excavation, hauling, and equipment support. This is a shop-based position in our heavy equipment shop focusing exclusively on off-road, heavy construction equipment. We are seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician with extensive off-road repair experience. This position offers the opportunity to work on some of the largest-sized equipment in Alberta, including D11 dozers, haul trucks, 1250 excavators, and more, while working with a knowledgeable and hard-working shop team. We are currently accepting and reviewing resumes from the following applicants: 3rd-Year Apprentice Technician, 4th-Year Apprentice Technician, or a Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician. An appropriate wage offering will be provided based on your level of experience and the highest level you have achieved in the Heavy Equipment Technician program. Responsibilities Heavy Duty Technician with 3+ years of experience repairing off-road heavy construction equipment Hands-on experience with CAT, Komatsu, and John Deere heavy construction equipment Skilled in working on off-road equipment like dozers, excavators, graders, loaders, packers, rock trucks, scrapers, and skid-steers Hydraulic and electrical system repairs Transmission and brake system repairs General maintenance and running repairs Engine diagnostics, rebuilds, and overhauls Requirements Currently holds a Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician certificate OR a 4th-Year Apprentice HET OR a 3rd-Year Apprentice HET certificate Experience with CAT ET/SIS and/or John Deere Service Advisor are considered assets Legally authorized to work in Canada Class 5 license Has a clean driver’s abstract Reliable form of transportation Our Weekly Schedule: Monday-Friday: 10-12 hours/day Saturday: 8-10 hours/day Sundays and long weekends off What We Offer: Competitive hourly wage: $40-$60, based on experience Pay increases for strong performers Overtime pay: After 8 hours each day and 44 hours per week Vacation/Holiday pay: 9.6% of each cheque Full Benefits Package: Our benefits provider, Open Circle, covers dental, vision, health care, prescription medication, and life insurance.
