Manager, Flow Control Facilities – Electrical Maintenance & Controls Business Unit: EPCOR Water Services Department: Linear Asset Services Location: Edmonton, AB   The Opportunity   EPCOR Water Services is seeking an experienced people leader to join our Linear Asset Services team as Manager, Flow Control Facilities – Electrical Maintenance & Controls. This role is accountable for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of electrical, instrumentation, control, and communications systems across EPCOR’s distributed wastewater collection facilities.   This is a front ‑ line management role with a strong operational focus—executing the annual work plan, leading skilled t rades teams, and ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and through others in a dynamic operating environment.   At this time , we are accepting applications from internal EPCOR Employees as well as external applicants. Key Accountabilities   Lead the planning and execution of the annual flow control facilities electrical maintenance and controls work plan, including resourcing and budget inputs Ensure safe, compliant operation and maintenance of electrical, instrumentation and control systems connected to the wastewater SCADA network Provide day ‑ to ‑ day leadership to electrical, instrumentation, and controls teams, including skilled trades Remove barriers, respond to changing priorities, and ensure work is completed safely and to standard Drive operational excellence through adherence to procedures, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement Lead or support electrical and instrumentation projects, repairs, upgrades, and capital work Partner with Operations, Engineering, Controls & Automation Engineering (CAE), Asset Management, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and support new systems and technology Maintain an accurate asset inventor y and related technical documentation Manage budgets, track expenditures, and support forecasting and variance reporting Champion a strong health, safety, and environmental culture, including incident investigations and regulatory compliance What You Bring   Education Post ‑ secondary education in electrical engineering, engineering technology, a recognized trade certification, or a related technical discipline from a recognized, accredited institution Please note if  you have obtained your journeyman certification outside of Alberta Interprovincial Red Seal certification (Millwright and/or Welder) will be required Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation , Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) or eligibility with APEGA is an asset Experience 5+ years of progressively responsible electrical, controls, or technical experience in an industrial or utility environment 5+ years of experience leading technical staff and skilled trades, including in a unionized environment 2+ years of project management experience Technical Knowledge Electrical systems (low ‑ voltage), PLCs, SCADA, HMI, and industrial control systems Industrial communication networks and protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus) CMMS experience (IVARA) and process improvement experience are assets Leadership Profile   You are a steady, accountable leader who: Drives results while prioritizing safety and reliability Builds capable teams and holds people accountable Collaborates effectively across technical and operational groups Communicates clearly with front ‑ line employees and stakeholders Other important facts about this job   This is a professional level position and that typically works Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)   Learn more about Working at EPCOR ! You will be reimbursed in accordance with EPCOR’s Employee Mileage Reimbursement Policy. The results of this competition may be used to fill similar vacant positions for up to six (6) months.
