Position Scope The Junior Instructional Designer/Developer will work within the Learning & Development team to support the design and development of training for the CMiC product suite. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in eLearning development, accessible content design, and instructional design while working on real-world projects in a tech-driven environment. Individuals applying for this position must be enrolled in a post-secondary program and have a professional demeanor, strong organizational and communication skills, and exceptional attention to detail. Duties & Responsibilities The student will assist with the following key areas: Storyboarding for eLearning Development Review existing training videos and documentation and extract key instructional content. Organize and structure content into detailed storyboards. ·Work with subject matter experts and instructional designers to ensure storyboards align with learning objectives. Format and refine narrative scripts, interactions, and assessment details to support effective course development. eLearning Development, Accessibility & Multimedia Asset Preparation Assist in creating interactive learning elements in Articulate Rise and Storyline. Package and test SCORM-compliant courses in the Docebo LMS to ensure proper functionality and accessibility across devices and browsers. Edit and format scripts for text-to-speech narration in eLearning courses. Select and update images, icons, and animations to align with instructional content and inclusive design standards. Support the development of accessible eLearning content by applying basic accessibility best practices, including clear navigation, alternative text, color contrast, and captioning standards. Conduct basic accessibility quality assurance testing for eLearning modules, including keyboard navigation and multimedia playback checks. Assist in updating captions, transcripts, and multimedia assets to support accessible learning experiences. Requirements Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Learning Experience Design or a related field. Proficiency with Articulate Rise is required. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in structuring and formatting content. Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources into clear, structured storyboards. Exposure to industry accessibility standards including AODA and WCAG 2.1 AA compliance practices is an asset. Interest in accessible content design, universal design for learning, or inclusive eLearning practices is an asset. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. A strong aptitude for quickly learning new technology, products, and concepts. What You’ll Gain Hands-on experience in eLearning development, instructional design, and accessible content creation.
