The J. Hansen HVAC Group Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman HVAC Technician to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be a licensed professional with strong technical expertise and a commitment to quality workmanship and customer service. This role involves the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems.  The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and capable of supporting both scheduled service and emergency response work. Duties and Responsibilities: Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components including motors, controls, valves, condensers, humidifiers, evaporators, and compressors using hand and power tools Install, troubleshoot, and overhaul complete heating, ventilation, air handling, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems Perform system start-ups and test for leaks using appropriate diagnostic and testing devices Maintain, repair, and replace parts and components for refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, and heat pump systems Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and implement effective solutions Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings Ensure all work complies with applicable HVAC codes, standards, and safety regulations Complete service documentation, reports, and work orders accurately and in a timely manner Communicate professionally with customers regarding system performance, service findings, and recommended repairs Support 24-hour emergency service on a flexible rotating on-call schedule Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles in good working condition Perform other related duties as assigned Skills and Qualifications: Service experience in commercial and/or industrial HVAC systems is an asset Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, electrical controls, and mechanical systems Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to support 24-hour emergency service on a rotating schedule Ability to conduct work while standing, bending, crawling, lifting, climbing, pulling, and reaching Ability to work in confined spaces, on ladders, and/or on aerial platforms Must be comfortable working at heights Strong time management skills and attention to detail   Education & Certifications: Completion of secondary school is required Licensed Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic (Journeyperson preferred) Gas Fitter Class B License is preferred, willingness to obtain certification is considered an asset WHMIS and applicable safety certifications  Valid driver’s license and willingness to provide a driver’s abstract Benefits:  Complete health benefit package Competitive company RRSP package with option for employee matching Competitive wages, above industry standard   Job Type: Full-Time
