RESPEC is seeking a motivated, talented professional for a senior hydrogeologist to join our growing mine water management group in Vancouver, BC. The senior hydrogeologist will manage and undertake projects and technical studies in the field of hydrogeology and hydrogeochemistry as required for mine exploration, development, operations, reclamation and closure. They will collaborate with our mining engineering specialists on hard rock mining, evaporitic rock mining with underground, open pit and solution mining operations. This role will be responsible for overseeing quality control including review and approval of technical correspondence, project proposals, technical reports, work plans, and project specifications including cost estimates and budgets. Together, we provide niche services to solve complex problems in mine water management. You will be at the forefront of delivering innovative and sustainable solutions for our clients across Canada and internationally. In this client-facing role, you will enjoy engaging with clients and actively participating in business development activities to expand our services and client base. As a leader within the team, you will work alongside the Director of Mine Water Management, playing a key role in supporting our clients and their water management needs Required: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, geological science, or a related field Minimum of 15 years of consulting experience conducting, developing, and executing hydrogeological projects in the mining sector in relating to mine water management Professional Registration: Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or Professional Geologist (P.Geo) designation or eligibility for registration in British Columbia. Registrations in other provinces/territories or the U.S. would be considered an asset Adept in analytical and numerical groundwater flow modelling including the development of three-dimensional geological models Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment Preferred: A master’s degree or higher preferred in civil engineering, geological science, or related field Contaminant transport modeling and Water Quality Predictive modelling preferred Compensation: Salary depends on experience and expertise.
