ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY: McDougall Energy is looking for an experienced and energetic individual to fill position of Human Resources Manager on a fixed term 18-month contract. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, this role will be accountable to support and deliver HR services and programs in alignment with company objectives. This role will primarily provide support to our Corporate Convenience network throughout Ontario. Responsibilities include: Providing support to managers and employees for all day-to-day related HR inquiries and daily operations of the business Leading the recruitment and selection process including job postings, position descriptions, interview, references, and employment offers for all retail roles Assisting with the development and implementation of orientation programs and customized training plans, providing a positive on-boarding experience for our employees Providing HR guidance and support to managers on employee performance, discipline, documentation, compliance, employee engagement and retention Conduct workplace investigations, present findings and make recommendations Work in close partnership with Health & Safety to support compliance and workplace safety initiatives Other duties or special projects may be required in support of the business. ABOUT YOU: The ideal candidate will have: 2 to 5 years of progressive experience in a manager role covering areas of HR Knowledge of the retail convenience industry would be considered an asset Working knowledge of Employment Standards Act (ESA) as it relates to scheduling practices, including hours of work, meal breaks, and rest periods to ensure compliance and guide managers.
