Working under the direction of the Executive Chief Steward, this position is responsible for following both company and facility policies and procedures. The dishwasher / steward will promote the Parq Vancouver facility and act as a positive role model and representative of Blau & Associates. The dishwasher / steward continually strives for 100% guest satisfaction. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES The Dishwasher is responsible for: • The breakdown, loading, unloading and sorting of all dishes, glassware and flatware • Washing, sorting and cleaning dishes according to both facility and Vancouver Coastal Health standards • Sorting, stacking and storing clean items in an organized and safe manner • Ensuring all breakages and chipped items are removed from circulation and inventoried • Ensuring floors are properly cleaned and maintained • Transporting garbage from kitchen areas to designated disposable areas • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment • All duties as assigned by the Executive Chief Steward or their designated representative QUALIFICATIONS The Dishwasher must: • Have the ability to work under pressure in a fast paced, team environment • Have knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations • Have a valid Food Safe Level 1 Certificate • Have the ability to obtain and maintain a GPEB license if necessary • Be able to stand for extended periods of time, reach, bend and stoop repeatedly • Be able to frequently lift and carry up to 44 pounds • Previous experience in a similar role is an asset WHAT YOU BRING A genuine passion for pastry, baking, and dessert innovation Strong technical skills in baking, pastry production, and dessert plating Attention to detail and commitment to consistency Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills A desire to learn, grow, and contribute creatively
