Overview:  Manufacturing   VP & GM Thermogenics Equipment Solutions Aurora June 2025 Reporting to the Vice President & General Manager, Thermogenics Equipment Solutions; the Director, Manufacturing Operations will provide strategic leadership, guidance and direction for all manufacturing operations and related activities.  The Director, Manufacturing Operations will ensure safety, quality, and the on-time delivery of Thermogenics’ equipment solutions, while meeting or exceeding financial and operational goals and objectives.  Critical to this role will be the Director, Manufacturing Operations’ ability to engage, involve, and support shop personnel so that a sustainable competitive advantage for Thermogenics equipment solutions is realized.  To this end, they will leverage their knowledge of continuous process improvement (LEAN) practices, listening skills, and tap into the depth of knowledge of Thermogenics’ shop personnel to create “big wins” for employees, customers, and Thermogenics.    Characteristics and Attributes of the ideal candidate:  Listens well, able to engage and inspire experienced and highly skilled shop personnel  A creative, innovative and idea generator and problem solver that engages all employees to participate in operational improvements Has demonstrated energy, vision and passion for achievement under demanding time schedules  Ability to manage, motivate and develop individuals on their team  Strong leadership capabilities  Hands-on – mechanical aptitude; ASME code welding experience desirable  Strategic thinker – anticipates next steps and impacts  Mature relationship builder, able to inter-act well with shop personnel, customers, suppliers, and other members of leadership team  Key Responsibilities:   ➔ Leadership & Team  Provides leadership & direction to all Plant operations, support groups; including goal setting, performance management, training & development.  Promotes Thermogenics’ culture and values, promotes the same from their teams  Listens to understand and incorporates good ideas from the team  Engages and inspires all personnel, builds relationships and trust  Determines skills and knowledge gaps to set and deliver impactful training and development of employees and supervisors   Promotes the requirements of, and seeks feedback to continually improve, the Thermogenics Trade Development Program (TTDP)  Thoughtfully and objectively applies Thermogenics performance management system, e.g., Goals & Objective setting, Midyear and Yearend reviews, and “1:1’s” to build capabilities and confidence ➔ Production & Performance Attainment   Ensures Safety first  Ensures >95% On Time Delivery, with Quality  Ensures production deadlines are met  Ensures efficient use and availability of resources for the shop Creates, optimizes, and improves manufacturing procedures and work instructions for all processes  Ensures that Thermogenics product is being fabricated to standards and job instructions   Ensures Manufacturing and Engineering work together to optimize processes  ➔ Resource Management   Manages to the budget including plant equipment (both minor expenditures and capital investments) and payroll.  Continuously pursues safety, quality, variable cost and capacity improvements with their teams    ➔ Policy Adherence  Supports and helps sustain the Environmental Health and Safety Program and all related legal compliance requirements  Works in conjunction with Human Resources for all recruiting within the Manufacturing Operations team  Works and supports company compliance guidelines and policies  Other duties as specified by the Vice President & General Manager, Thermogenics Equipment Solutions    Qualifications & Experience:  University degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or Operations Management very desirable  10+ years of experience in Manufacturing Management or Leadership of Operations of at least 50 personnel  Gas Technician license or ASME code Welding Certification or related manufacturing experience, preferred   Proven leadership and management skills, track record of developing high performing teams  Demonstrated ability to manage and coach as well as uncover training needs for team members  Strong strategic planning, relationship building, and organizational skills    Strong background in employee relations, with demonstrated success in coaching, mentoring, and team development  Demonstrated success in leading change management initiatives. Analytical mindset with a track record of using data to improve quality, performance, and operational efficiency  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization Effective presentation skills required  Proficient PC skills to include Excel, MS word and Power Point  Able to develop a business plan and execution strategy  Solid understanding and hands-on implementation of LEAN concepts    Familiarity with the Ontario Health & Safety Act is required
