About this role

The House of Commons’ Finance Services is currently looking to staff the Deputy Director, Members’ Financial Advisory position. This recruitment and selection process is restricted to employees working for Financial Services at the House of Commons Administration.  Reporting to the Director, Members’ Financial Advisory and Policy Services, the Deputy Director provides strategic leadership in the planning, development, implementation, and oversight of financial programs and services that support Members of Parliament and House Officers. The role is central to advancing a client-centred service delivery model, ensuring that financial advisory services are timely, responsive, consistent, and tailored to meet the evolving needs of Members. The Deputy Director leads and empowers a team of professionals in delivering high-quality, client-focused financial advisory services. In this capacity, the incumbent provides expert, credible, and authoritative advice on complex financial, policy, and commercial leasing matters, while fostering a proactive and relationship-driven approach to service delivery as a trusted partner to clients. The role requires navigating sensitive and high-risk issues with sound judgment, discretion, and integrity. It also requires working collaboratively across Finance Services and with House partners to resolve issues and continuously  enhance service delivery. By guiding the implementation of cutting-edge solutions that enhance user experience and support business goals, you will play a key role in advancing a central point of guidance for Members and driving excellence at the House of Common Education: Successful completion of a university degree, preferably in business administration, finance, accounting or a related field, OR an acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience.  Experience: Demonstrated experience leading finance advisory or service delivery teams in providing timely, professional, and client-focused support to senior officials, executives, elected representatives, or similar clients in a high-profile environment; Experience building and maintaining effective working relationships with senior clients and stakeholders, and providing sound advice on complex or sensitive financial, policy, or operational matters; Experience designing, implementing, or enhancing service delivery approaches and processes to  strengthen the client experience, clarify service standards, and ensure consistency across teams; Experience identifying recurring client issues and contributing to their resolution through the use of  feedback, data, and practical solutions to improve service and mitigate future risks;  Experience collaborating with multiple internal partners and teams to coordinate responses, resolve issues, and enhance  services within a complex environment; Experience managing human and financial resources  including setting priorities, fostering  employee development, and ensuring the effective and timely delivery of results. Assets: A professional financial designation (CPA, CFA) or a Masters’ Business Administration (MBA).
