We are currently looking for a Configurator reporting to the Manager, Configuration. The position holder will optimize production sequence according to the machine and human resources available. His work is fully integrated into the planning process materialized by the Production Director Program, and he works in concert with the Master Planner, the Scheduler and the Process Planner to align the overall execution plan. What we offer In addition to a job that matches your ambitions, with varied and enriching assignments, joining Velan means becoming part of a passionate team and enjoying exceptional working conditions: Competitive hourly rate  Comprehensive insurance program and group RRSP with employer contribution Competitive vacation policy Paid time off during the holidays Free on-site parking Company events (health, family, sports, etc.) and various wellness initiatives Fast career progression and professional development opportunities Responsibilities First level of escalation for technical alignment of drawings and customer requirements  Review purchase orders, drawings and quality control instructions to address all requirements during the planning process, including the following steps: Parts BOM Review  Preparation of engineering change applications when a new design is required or when a design needs to be changed  Preparation of equipment purchase requisitions  Verification of the routing of parts and preparation of work orders (follower sheets) or assembly orders  Determine the appropriate BOM (Bill of Material) structure to perform and assemble in Operations Create the part numbers in the system with the right parameterization  Assess the risks on the components to establish if necessary to add provisional orders related to the value of the components Confirm the status of work orders (tracking sheets) to other planning teams and the machine shop as scheduled  Monitor and update stock levels of raw and finished parts and confirm specific consumable order requirements  Maintain up-to-date planning records for each project (from the recording of purchase orders to the delivery of the last valve ordered)  Revisit the planning process when purchase order specifications, project drawings, or quality control instructions (QCI) are revised Integrate patches into systems and coordinate overall alignment  Follow up with plant personnel, subcontractors, buyers, the Technical Department and the Quality Control and Quality Assurance Department to ensure that all parties involved deliver products and services on time to ensure that valves are delivered on time  Coordinate internal and external production decisions with Operations, Purchasing and the Industrial Engineering department. Your profile DEC in Operations Management, Manufacturing Production, Operations Management, Mechanical Manufacturing, or equivalent  3 to 5 years of experience in production planning and inventory control in a manufacturing environment Advanced proficiency in Excel (advanced functions, Pivot Table, Power Query) and Microsoft Office suite Good knowledge of ISO standards in a manufacturing environment Advanced ease in the operation of a manufacturing ERP (BOM, routing, scheduling, inventories) Ability to organize work efficiently to meet deadlines Strong adaptability Finalize reports on time Improving the inventory reporting process If you recognize yourself in this profile and would like to take on this challenge, we would love to learn more about you!
