About this role

Position Summary As a Commercial Maintenance II (2), the successful candidate will join our Building Operations team and be responsible for preventative maintenance and repairs for the complex. The successful candidate will be capable of working independently and making good decisions. The primary responsibility of this position is to carry out both operations and preventative maintenance in the buildings at the Place de Ville complex. Responsibilities   Carry out preventative maintenance and related minor repairs to washroom fixturing, doors and hardware, flush valves, stairwell tiles, health and safety equipment such as but not limited to; fire hose cabinets, first aid kids, and eye wash stations Report larger repair needs to the Property Manager/Technical Supervisor  Carry-out inspections for deficiencies in tenant premises, the parking garage, hobbies, the roofs, the patio, courtyards, check the exterior furniture, and perform related minor repairs Monitor and maintain roof drains, exterior and interior drains Co-ordinate third party contractors’ access in the complex and assist them as required. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in cost-effectiveness in the purchase of fixturing and other maintenance components Carry-out meeting rooms set-up Work co-operatively with in -house staff Respond to emergency situations Conduct day-to-day resolutions to service requests Purchase replacement parts for repairs  Support planned preventative maintenance programs    Perform other related responsibilities as requested from time to time    What We’re Looking For The successful candidate must pass and maintain a Government of Canada security clearance. Must have maintenance skills needed for the repair and maintenance of plants and buildings. The successful candidate will have knowledge of safe work practices and the ability to work together with contr actors with the aim of having maintenance and repair tasks completed efficiently and safely. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate experience with HVAC systems, pneumatic controls, dampers, etc. Must have general computer proficiency, including the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
