WATER TREATMENT OPERATOR Permanent position Unionized Position to fill 1 Code CO26-09 Hourly rate 43.34$ - 49.24$ Deadline to apply May 19th, 2026 The work location is at Nunavik and the normal work schedule is on a rotation of 6 weeks: 2 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days a week) followed by 3 weeks for rest. Summary of responsibilities The Water Treatment Operator performs the following duties in accordance with applicable safety standards: Operates and maintains a drinking water and a wastewater treatment systems; Operate, maintain, participate in the preparation of the mine water treatment systems. Participate to seasonal water treatment operators training Measure and inspect pond level and insfrastructure Ensure compliance with regulations by ensuring the conduct of potable water production and distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, and sludge disposal processes to ensure control; To sample, analyze and characterize raw, waste and treated water from a physical, physicochemical and microbiological point of view; Perform manual work and maintenance of water production and distribution equipment; Participate in the optimization of processes; Compile and interpret data. Requirements Have more than 5 years of experience in the field. Must hold a diploma, a certificate of study, a certificate of qualification or a certificate of experience mentioning that he/she has followed and passed a training course as a drinking water operator such as: Complete surface or ground water treatment and distribution network (OSTUD). Holder of the Wastewater Treatment Certificate of Qualification. Knowledge of physical-chemical process water treatment with clarifier/thickener; sludge recirculation. Diploma of Professional Studies (DEP) in plumbing and heating (an asset). Possess a valid driver's license. Skills sought Work with a diverse and multicultural team; Bilingualism (French and functional English); Good knowledge of MS Office software. Enjoy working outdoors.
