About this role

The CMM Programmer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programs used to inspect precision machined components in a CNC manufacturing environment (Aerospace, space, and medical parts). This role ensures accurate, efficient, and repeatable measurement processes in compliance with engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and customer specifications. In addition to programming, the role includes hands-on inspection support using CMM and conventional measuring tools when required. Responsibilities Develop, program, and optimize CMM programs using Zeiss CMM with Calypso software Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements to create effective inspection strategies Troubleshoot and improve existing CMM programs to ensure accuracy and efficiency Support First Article Inspections (FAI) through program development and validation Perform or support dimensional inspections (incoming, in-process, and final) using CMM and manual measuring tools as needed Maintain and update CMM programs based on engineering changes and continuous improvement initiatives Collaborate with Production, Methods, and Programming teams to resolve measurement issues and improve processes Support internal and external audits related to inspection and measurement systems Mentor and support junior inspectors in CMM usage and interpretation of results Qualifications Diploma or certification in Quality Control, Manufacturing, or a related field 5+ years of experience in a metal manufacturing environment (aerospace preferred) 3+ years of experience in CMM programming (Zeiss CMM with Calypso software strongly preferred) Solid understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings Experience with manual inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.) Knowledge of AS9100 quality standards (FAI experience is an asset) Experience with ERP systems (e.g., JobBoss) and Microsoft Office Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Ability to communicate clearly both written and spoken * The duties, responsibilities and qualification described in this document are not a comprehensive list.
