Child Care Assistant Supervisor, School Age - Full Time Location: Multiple Off Site Locations, Guelph-Wellington Work Hours: 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday. Shifts will vary between 7:00am – 6:00pm. What you will do… Spend 50% in the office and 50% in program Support the supervisor in leading a team to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment where children and families have access to high quality licensed child care that influences positive child and family outcomes Build knowledge, skills and confidence in your team through effective supervision, on the ground support, and coaching opportunities Make meaningful connections and use effective communication to develop strong relationships with children, families, educators, volunteers, and community partners Foster a positive team environment by building morale and creating a safe trusted team atmosphere where reflection and goal setting are valued and supported Support all ages and stages of development by ensuring the delivery of high quality licensed child care experiences that encourage children’s exploration, play and inquiry, supported by Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years, How Does learning Happen? and YMCA Curriculum Multitask to complete administrative responsibilities and adapt well to the changing needs of the centre What you will bring… Registered Early Childhood Educator: An Early Childhood Educator Diploma Registered (or proof that registration is in process) and in good standing in the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a licensed child care setting working with children 0-5 years and 6-12 years of age Early Child Care Educator: Degree or Diploma in Child and Youth Work /Child and Youth Care or Bachelors of Education or Social Service Worker or Social Work or Recreation and Leisure General Qualifications: You have experience leading diverse teams in creating environments that nurture positive, responsive relationships with children, parents/caregivers and community partners Relationship building, communication, coaching and mentoring, problem solving and critical reflection are key competencies you rely on in your day to day work Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification prior to the first day of work Up-to-date immunizations required by Public Health Ability to use frequent light to medium physical effort: lifting up to 20 kg (44 lbs.), bending and stooping; picking up a child Ability to work outdoors for at least 1 hour daily year-round; may be exposed to heat, humidity or cold Flexibility and adaptability regarding assigned working hours Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and building a sense of belonging Applicants are required to be a minimum of 18 years of age or older as per Ministry guidelines Legally entitled to work in Canada This role may require regular travel across the region, which may not always be easily accessible through public transit. The employee must be able to arrange their own transportation to these sites. A valid G driver’s license and full time vehicle access are strongly recommended.
