We are seeking a Buyer with a strong understanding of mobile asset parts to support our operations and optimize procurement processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in the purchasing process, from needs assessment to payment, including order management, warehouse replenishment, supplier relations, and support for operational teams. This is a 12-month contract to start, with the possibility of becoming permanent thereafter. You will be required to work 3 days a week at the Montreal office and 2 days a week at the Laval office. What you are responsible for: Ensure that established purchasing procedures are applied and respected; Research new sources of supply to reduce costs and improve the quality of maintenance products and services; Negotiate purchasing terms (price, deadlines, warranties, terms); Prepare and analyze cost comparison reports; Issue and manage purchase orders; Follow up on orders with suppliers; Prioritize orders and coordinate deliveries with suppliers; Develop and maintain good relationships with existing suppliers; Maintain effective communication with other departments (operations, finance); Maintain relationships with internal clients; Analyze and consolidate needs and vendors; Actively participate in achieving key performance indicators (KPIs); Any other related tasks; To join our team: Hold a college diploma (DEC) or equivalent combination of experience; Have at least 5 years of experience in a purchasing department within a manufacturing company (experience in heavy mobile equipment parts is an asset); Be fluent in spoken and written French and English to communicate with our various suppliers in Canada and the United States; Be committed to quality; Ability to communicate effectively with different teams and processes; Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously; Be self-motivated and resourceful; Knowledge of ERP systems (Maximo is an asset); A valid driver's license is required due to regular travel to Montreal and Lévis, as well as to some suppliers What we offer!
