Long-term Care Community Support Services Hospice and Palliative Care Better Living Health and Community Services and Better Living at Thompson House play a critical role in delivering these services and supporting individuals and families through our Continuum of Care.

Providing oversight of organizational performance, quality, and compliance Contributing to strategic planning and long-term sustainability Ensuring accountability to Residents, Clients, Families and the broader community Supporting strong leadership, ethical decision-making, and risk management Upholding fiduciary and legal responsibilities as a Board Director.
Previous Board experience is an asset but is not required. Orientation and ongoing education are provided.
Human Resources and Labour Relations Financial management or accounting Legal expertise (Health, Employment, Corporate, or Governance) Long-Term Care Redevelopment/Construction Project Management Public Affairs and Marketing Equally important is sound judgement, collaborative leadership, and a commitment to community service. We are actively seeking individuals who live and/or work in North York and York Region.
Board participation is a volunteer role. Directors are elected to a one-year term, with the opportunity for re-election. In-person meetings approximately every two months Occasional committee meetings Additional time for task related actionable items (generally no more than 3 hours per month) Support the organization’s fundraising initiatives. **No artificial intelligence or automated decision-making tools will be used in the screening or selection for this role.
