Reporting to the Director, Finance, this role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys continuous learning, working with data, improving processes, and contributing to accurate and timely financial reporting. The Accounting Coordinator plays a key role in supporting month‑end and year‑end close activities, maintaining accounting records across multiple business units, and helping drive standardization and system improvements as the organization continues to grow and evolve. This position offers meaningful exposure to ERP systems, cross‑functional processes, and continuous improvement initiatives, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a strong, well‑rounded accounting career. Support the month‑end close process, including preparation of reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting  Assist in the preparation of year‑end audit working papers, lead sheets, schedules, and supporting documentation for external auditors  Perform daily accounting transactions related to inventory, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy and completeness  Monitor and reconcile account balances, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner  Collaborate with Finance and Operations teams to identify process gaps, reduce manual work, and improve data quality  Participate in and lead process improvement and standardization initiatives across multiple entities and business units  Create, document, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to accounting workflows, ERP processes  Serve as a subject‑matter resource for data collection and system processes, supporting training and knowledge sharing across cross functional teams Support ERP enhancements, reporting improvements, and system transitions as required  Provide cross‑functional and cross‑role coverage within the Finance team through cross‑training and collaboration  Assist with ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, and special projects as requested   ABOUT YOU:  Bachelor’s degree in business or finance Three (3) years’ experience in maintaining accounting functions in a computerized accounting software environment; ERP experience is preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills; both verbal and written Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment Demonstrated ability to manage in a fast-paced environment with ability to manage a high volume of data; with strong attention to detail Excellent time management and organization skills; ability to effectively prioritize and committed to deadlines Strong proficiency working with Microsoft Office; specifically in Excel Excellent knowledge of accounting and accounting standards, especially Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Experience working with a large ERP system is an asset   WHAT WE OFFER: We offer career growth and development through on-the-job training, professional courses, and peer learning in a friendly and inclusive work environment that allows you to thrive both personally and professionally.  We offer a comprehensive total rewards package including: Salary: $72,000 per year 4 Weeks Paid Vacation Employer-matched Group RRSP  Employer-paid Health & Dental Benefits  Employee Assistance Program (EAP)  Healthcare & Lifestyle Spending Account  Life & Disability Insurance Employee & Customer Referral Programs Employee Discount & Perks Programs    Are you ready to power your career and make a difference at McDougall Energy?
